Yesterday was a very difficult day for me because I am going through experiencing some family problems. If this blog were anonymous, I would go into detail because I know it would be a cathartic release. All the difficulty of yesterday overshadowed the arrival of my new camera. I christened it with a shot of Baby N.

This is a post that I had all but sacked because I didn’t want to write a post full of complaints. But an event that happened today saw the reemergence of my original idea. So I’m here to vent–to get it out of my system in one fell swoop so that I shall not dwell on it from this day forth. Customer service reps are the bane of my existence…or at least they have been for the last couple of weeks. It all started when my wallet was stolen. Yes, stolen…and the culprit made off with a measly five dollars, my bank card, driver’s license, school ID, and a number of other things, which luckily did not fit into the category of irreplaceable. The biggest headache that I’ve received during all of this has come from dealing with customer service representatives assisting me with the replacement of my stolen items. Because my previous license was Florida issued, I couldn’t just get a replacement, I had to apply for a new North Carolina license–which entailed taking a driving test. I arrived at the DMV early enough, or at least I thought. The line was not terribly long so I figured I would be in and out in no time. Wrong! DMV=Don’t Move Very fast. It took me over two hours to finish everything, primarily because the CSRs moved at a snail’s pace. And when I glanced up (in between my naps) I often found them chatting away with one another instead of assisting the long line of customer’s waiting patiently to be served.
Next complaint–Woodforest National Bank employees are incompetent! Hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It took about two weeks before I was able to get a functioning ATM/Debit card. I mean in this age of instant gratification, two weeks is unacceptable. I have never encountered so many divergent interpretations of one company’s policy. No one seemed to know what they were doing or talking about. Needless to say I’m canceling my account. I should take my business to Wachovia; after-all, they do have word-class customer service. My experiences with them have always been pleasant. One thing that did satisfy me–my license photo. I’ve never liked my license pictures. I usually end up looking drunk because the photo is snapped during a blink. But I’m pleased by this one (photo above).
