My Continuing Frustration With Internet Explorer

Once again I’m having problems with how my blog is presented in the Internet Explorer browser. This is how my site looks when viewed in Firefox (or Safari):

(click to enlarge) Not only is the color of the text and links different from the color specifications on my stylesheet, but the page tabs don’t even show up in Internet Explorer! The tabs are there but you can only see them if you roll the mouse over them — but who would know to do that? This is so darn frustrating because I know that I have visitors who use Internet Explorer when reading my blog. Which brings me to the question, “Why are people still using Internet Explorer when there are alternative browsers that offer great features and don’t suck like IE.” If you don’t know where to start, try Firefox. It’s free, you don’t have to worry about all those annoying pop-ups, and Firefox offers some great add-ons. I highly recommend giving it a try, I’m certain you will never go back to Internet Explorer. Plus, you’ll be able to view my site in the way that I intended it to be viewed

Internet Explorer…Who Needs You When There is Firefox?

I recently set up my new site, which I transferred to a new host after using wordpress.com for a while. So I’m working on the site, and I don’t know much about CSS, PHP, XHTML, etc. (although the learning curve is not so steep after working these past few days). We have two computers in the house–a Mac (mine) and a PC (my sister’s). I thought I was finished with the site and it looked fine in Firefox and Safari, but then I go downstairs to check on Internet Explorer and the blog is all warped and looks crazy. I try fixing it but then the formatting messes up in Firefox. So then I weigh my options–I could keep it as is since I know Internet Explorer is a popular browser (especially amongst many people I know who are just a step above computer illiteracy), or I could change the site to view properly in Firefox and make those people step it up and download Firefox as their browser. Well…I chose the latter. So sorry to all you Internet Explorer users, but it’s time you got with the program–you don’t need Internet Explorer anymore.
